Nathalie Stephenne obtained a degree in Geography, a master in development studies and a PhD from the University of Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. Her PhD thesis on Land Use change modelling has been published by ARSOM in 2003. She worked as team leader and business developer on Earth Observation and GIS topics in private companies (I-mage consult / EUROSENSE). At IGEAT, University of Brussel, she worked on remote sensing projects (Belgian Science Policy). Her postdoctoral research at the DG Joint Research Center of the European Commission, Italy, was on GIS spatial modelling in Security issues. She developed the Remote Sensing and Geodata unit at ISSeP (Institut Scientifique de Service Public). She is currently expert in geomatic for managing the Walloon Georeferential dataset in public services (Service Public de Wallonie).
