Stéphanie graduated as a bio-engineer in forestry from Gembloux Agro-Bio Tech. After graduation she spent 11 years in academia where she was involved in numerous research projects in GIS and forest remote sensing, in teaching activities and student supervision. She obtained her PhD in agricultural sciences and biological engineering with a focus on the use of 3D remote sensing data for forest resource characterization. In parallel she worked in the field of popularization of science and participated in the realization of MOOCs. Afterwards, she moved to the private sector, in the Geospatial Information & System unit of Spacebel as a Remote Sensing Engineer to reinforce the team for the development of forestry services based on Earth Observation data and then became Project Manager.
